Feminine energy is the creative life force inside of all beings. She is the feeling of losing yourself in dancing and finding the wisdom and beauty in the language of your body. She is the energy inside of us that is pushed and pulled by the moon like the tides of the ocean. She is pleasure and chaos. The infinite spiral of creation.

Feminine energy exists inside of all beings regardless of gender. It is half of the sacred polarity that makes up all of existence. This sacred polarity of feminine and masculine energy exists inside of all of reality. The moon and the sun, water and fire, the unconscious and conscious. All of reality follows the law of polarity.

Origins Of Feminine Energy

Humans have recognized the existence and power of feminine energy long before it became a trending social media topic. We can see feminine energy mentioned in numerous spiritual philosophies throughout ancient history. Feminine energy is recognized in ancient Chinese philosophy, Yogic philosophy, Tantra, and numerous religions. Such as, Taoism, Hinduism, Paganism, Hellenism and Kemetism. These ancient belief systems had a strong focus on the importance of balancing feminine and masculine energy.

Perhaps the most well known symbol of feminine and masculine energy, Yin and Yang, comes from ancient Chinese philosophy. Yin energy represents femininity, coolness, receptivity, and ease. Yang energy represents masculinity, warmth, giving, and action. The ancient Chinese philosophers and healers recognized the immense power of feminine and masculine energy and the great importance of finding harmony between the two. Hindus believe that all of reality comes from the divine union of Shakti (feminine energy) and Shiva (masculine energy). Shakti is the life force inside of all of creation and Shiva is conscious awareness. These two forces create all of our reality.

We can see many religions attributing fertility, abundance, intuition, and compassion to female Goddesses. While traits such as courage, strength, honor, and assertiveness are often attributed to masculine Gods. The Moon is often associated with feminine energy, while the Sun is more often associated with masculine energy.

Throughout all of time humans have recognized the law of polarity. Night and day. Dark and light. Yin and Yang. Masculine and feminine.

The Importance Of Feminine Energy

Whatever is happening energetically is manifested in the physical world. There is a global drought of feminine energy. The world is desperate for the sacred waters of feminine energy to nourish our planet once again. We can see this desperate need for the rise of feminine energy all around us. We can see this in obvious ways such as the global lack of female leaders and the predominance of patriarchal societies, the epidemic of physical and sexual violence against women, and the oppression of women throughout many countries. However, we can also see the imbalance of feminine energy in less obvious ways as feminine and masculine energy go well beyond gender associations. To understand this, we must first understand the characteristics of feminine energy beyond gender.

Divine feminine energy connects us with our true nature, cosmic wisdom, intuition and soulfulness. Feminine energy is the refuge of ease and rest from our hyper masculine hustle culture. She is the simple state of being. She is the moments in life of pure relaxation and pleasure. Feminine energy fills our hearts with compassion and empathy. She is our connection to Mother Nature. She connects us with nature and our own nurturing energy. She speaks the language of your body and gifts you your sensuality. She is the creative spark in every artist and the force behind all creation. She is softness and surrender.

Before mass colonization and the spread of patriarchal religions, such as Catholicism, feminine energy was revered. The importance and power of feminine energy was recognized and appreciated. The Divine Feminine was once worshipped and honored equally to the Divine Masculine. The world was once full of Goddess based spiritualities and religions that honored the Divine Feminine. Prior to the Catholic church, the Roman empire was full of temples and statues dedicated to Goddesses. Indigenous peoples worshipped Mother Earth and sought to protect and care for our planet. There was a deep understanding of the importance of having a mutually nurturing relationship with the Earth. Feminine energy is the energy of both nature and nurturing. Pagan societies embraced feminine intuition and energetic power. The word "witch" originates from the word wicce, which means "wise woman". With the loss of the recognition of feminine divinity we can see with it the loss of the recognition of the importance of these traits in society.

When there is balance in the sacred energies there will be balance in the world. Before patriarchy men and women ruled as equals. According to National Geographic "Anthropologists insist there are no female-led matriarchies, if by matriarchy we mean the direct opposite of patriarchy. In his 1680 text Patriarcha, the English political theorist Sir Robert Filmer defined patriarchy as the natural rule of a father over his family and a king over his state. But what we usually see in matrilineal societies is women and men sharing power." When feminine energy rises, women rise. When women rise, balance and equality reign.

Women across the world are stepping into the power of their feminine energy. We are seeing a reemergence of respect for and recognition of Divine Feminine energy, Goddess religions, and nature based spirituality. People are beginning to recognize the great damage being caused by the global lack of feminine energy. We are all in desperate need of energetic balance. This is the era for the Divine Feminine to rise into her rightful power once again and bring harmony to the planet.

The Sacred Balance: Feminine and Masculine Energy

It is associated with the Sun and the fire of ambition. Masculine energy is the energy of action and doing. Masculine energy creates the safety and stability that feminine energy needs to rise. Divine Masculine energy is powerful and sacred. However, as the law of polarity goes, all good things have a shadow side as well. Too much masculine energy can lead to personal issues like burn out, excess stress, and aggression. Global issues can be caused by excess masculine energy as well. Such as, war, colonialism, over consumption and the rise of conquerors and oppressors.

In most societies around the world we receive indirect and sometimes very direct messages that masculinity is more valued than femininity. We live in a world that prioritizes doing over being. This can make it difficult to connect with our feminine energy and lead to our own personal energetic imbalances. Masculine energy helps us move through life, but feminine energy is what helps us enjoy life. Masculine energy is the energy of surviving. Feminine energy is the energy of thriving. Having a healthy balance between these two energies is necessary for life.

The modern world is dominated by masculine energy. This imbalance causes disharmony and chaos to all of humanity. We can see evidence of the damage caused from this disharmony in many ways. Such as, Earth’s long history of patriarchal societies and the oppression of women, hustle culture, the pillaging of Mother Earth, and so much more.

Our world is in a state of disharmony and our planet is suffering severely. Without the balance of the Divine Feminine the world has fallen into peril. Harmony between the sacred masculine and feminine energies creates harmony for our planet and ourselves. We must find balance between these energies to save the future of humanity.

How To Embrace Your Feminine Energy

Everyone's journey with their feminine energy is different. We all have different levels of feminine energy and we all connect with our feminine energy differently. Feminine energy is free and flowing. It expresses itself in many different ways.
